Easy Captions ("the app", "we", "us") is a native iPhone app that transcribes a short video on your device and burns social-style captions onto it. This policy explains what data the app does and does not handle.
Your videos, audio, and transcriptions never leave your device. Transcription runs entirely on-device with no cloud service and no third-party transcription API. We do not have a server, we do not have accounts, and we cannot see your content.
None. The app sends no videos, audio, transcripts, captions, or usage analytics to us or to any third party. Processing happens locally on your iPhone.
The app asks for Photos access only so you can pick a video to caption and save the finished video back to your Photos library. Selected and saved videos are handled on your device. We do not upload them anywhere.
Free users may choose to watch a short rewarded video ad to export. Ads are served by Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). When an ad is requested, Google may collect and process:
Easy Captions requests non-personalized ads only and does not present an App Tracking Transparency prompt. In regions where consent is required (e.g. the EU/EEA and UK), Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent dialog is shown the first time a free user chooses to watch an ad. Google's handling of this data is governed by Google's own policies:
Pro subscribers see no ads, and the app makes no advertising network calls for them.
Pro is an auto-renewable subscription handled entirely by Apple through the App Store (StoreKit). Apple processes the purchase and payment; we never receive your payment details or Apple ID. The app determines Pro status from Apple's signed, on-device purchase receipt only.
Easy Captions is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
